ABACUS Initiative

In partnership with the Hamilton Community Foundation’s ABACUS initiative, we made a 3-year commitment to provide 18 schools access to activities, resources, and volunteer mentors to introduce simple software programming to students in Grades 6-8. Our end goal? To create a spark of interest, in our program participants, which will fuel an educational and career pathway within the tech industry.

6-Week Intro to Code

In partnership with the City of Hamilton’s Future Fund our program allows HWCDSB and HWDSB students, in Grades 4-8, to explore Digital Literacy concepts. Over a 6-week period, once a week, club members develop simple software coding skills in partnership with a supervising teacher and an industry tech volunteer mentor. Register now

Intro to Robotics

In partnership with the ArcelorMittal Dofacso Foundation, our teacher-led program allows students, in Grades 4-8, to develop their S.T.E.M. knowledge through the use of Robotics. Don’t worry – you are provided with a comprehensive PPT slide deck, instructional guide, and you can borrow our SPRK Sphero kits! This hands on activity provides educational pathways, career/life planning while utilizing SPRK Sphero Balls by exploring and Robotics. Register now
